A collective discovery in Alaska's vast wilds (2022)

Alaska is often said to be on the "front lines of climate change" — particularly for the U.S., as it is warming faster than any other state. Planet Forward 2022 Storyfest Winners were well aware of Alaska's precarious position as they prepared to embark on Lindblad Expeditions' National Geographic Sea Lion for a six-day exploration of the remote wilderness of Alaska's Southeastern coast.

While visitors from around the world explore the National Mall in Washington, D.C., Citizens' Climate Lobby volunteer Julia Selker can be found canvassing for climate action.


The 26-year-old moved to D.C. in hopes of putting her background in science to use as an advocate for sustainable changes to energy policy.
